Linn County Bird Preserve

Traverse provided master planning and schematic design for multiple small day use areas at the Bird property acquired by Linn County Conservation. The Bird Property, previously a large working farm was dedicated to Linn County to protect open space and allow passive recreation for the community. The visioning process with the former Owner, the County Staff and user groups resulted in a master plan that included restorative measures to the property; oxbow river restoration, wetland restoration, oak savanna restoration and pollinator fields. Low impact development included mowed and gravel walking paths, timber shade structures, swing structures, seating areas and restrooms.
