Traverse Landscape Architects is excited to announce that it has officially opened a new office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Many of you are familiar with Traverse Landscape Architects as a successful Landscape Architecture firm in New England, so you may be asking why Iowa?
Having 10+ years in the field and of landscape architecture, our Associate, Justin Robertshaw, is excited for the opportunity to lead the effort of establishing an office in Cedar Rapids. In July, he approached the firm’s partners with news that his family would be moving to the Mid-West.
"My daughter needed to be closer to a support network of family and friends that could assist with her needs. Once the firm had an opportunity to digest the news that I was moving, the partners worked to figure out how they could keep me part of the Traverse team. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and excited for the challenge that awaits."
Although this is new territory for Traverse, Justin previously lived and worked in Cedar Rapids/Iowa region with numerous private and public clients prior to moving to New England. In August, there was a short investigative mission to Iowa where Traverse met with members of the City of Cedar Rapids, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the Marion Economic Development Corporation and various other small business supporting services. Those meetings were fruitful and affirmed why Cedar Rapids is continuously rated as one of the best cities to live and work. We believe Cedar Rapids and Iowa have many exciting opportunities for Landscape Architecture. Traverse will be well positioned to continue to grow its Landscape Architecture services in areas such as Education, Athletics, and Open Space Recreation.
