Healing Garden

The Concept

Our client requested a conceptual visualization of a healing garden where patients and their families would have a moment to reflect and rest outside of the hospital walls.  With limited space on the property, Traverse found a south facing linear space with mature trees.  The concept involves the creation of a floating deck in order to protect the trees which provide shade and scale.  The wood features and south facing exposure adds warmth in the shoulder seasons.  As you enter the garden, each small moment  offers a different experience.
