Newport Yachting Center

Traverse led a comprehensive master plan process when Scott’s Wharf, LLC acquired the property between Bannister’s Wharf and Perry Mill, in the heart of historic Newport. Master planning efforts included a detailed presentation to the investor group, the City of Newport, and the Coastal Resource Management Council (CRMC) having jurisdiction over the waterfront property. The master plan emphasized the pedestrian experience for marina and banquet guests and re-envisioned the adjacent harbor walk and commercial properties. The first phase of the plan included improvements to the Newport Yachting Center and Bohlin banquet facility. Enhancements included a new marina guest deck and facilities, a banquet tent, and new paving, lighting, and planting. To meet CRMC requirements, a new stormwater mitigation system comprised of a modular wetland and bio-retention planting bed, was installed.
