Teknor Apex

Traverse developed the site and landscape design for a new building renovation adjacent to Teknor Apex's Pawtucket headquarters. As part of a larger campus, the focus was to create an appealing landscape that would knit in with the existing campus vernacular and speak to their innovative company culture.

Working closely with the architect, Traverse designed a comprehensive landscape for the new building. The highlight was a parking lot, re-imagined as a company amenity. The new parking area was re-aligned to create a swath of green along the streetscape edge. Designed as a large bio-swale, this area slows and filters all runoff from the site. Planted with combinations of native perennials and grasses, Traverse created a beautiful, functioning wet meadow habitat within this otherwise urban environment. A large central plaza connecting the parking to the new building is programmed with benches and shade trees providing employees an area of respite during the workday.
