The project was awarded the 2024 BSA Built Design Excellence in the Education Facilities Design category.

This project re-envisions how landscape design can support the education and growth of our youngest learners. The goal is to integrate play into the built environment to encourage students to thing criticked, develop positive relationships and embrace curiosity.

Recognizing that play is the primary occupation of a child, the school's landscape design is guided by the principle of learning through play. Sensory gardens, outdoor classrooms, and extensive play areas are thoughtfully integrated into the architecture and curriculum, creating an environment that encourages students to think critically, develop positive relationships, and embrace curiosity.

Situated near the historic Borderland Park, the original estate and art studio of the school's namesake, Blanche Ames, the school is deeply rooted in the rich history of Easton. Themed play areas reflect ecological and historical references, fostering a sense of connection to the environment, community, and history. These themes are seamlessly woven throughout the school, enriching the educational experience and inspiring a love of learning.
